People who do business online frequently have their earnings held by pseudo-banks such as PayPal and e-gold. A problem then arises when the same people need their money out of these pseudo-banks or transferred between them.
The most common way to do it appears to be to find someone who is happy to trade. So A puts money into B’s PayPal account and B puts money into A’s e-gold account. (more…)
I’ve just taken a novel step and am trying out two directory submission services. They’ve both taken a while to get started and yesterday I received a flood of submission notifications. Yay!

I caught up, quite by chance, with a woman I used to know pre-children and we were discussing the divergent paths our lives had taken. She was a graphic designer back then and now works outside that field in a small NZ city.
We got talking about how she might restart her graphics career without the commitment of a job, or a CV to assist her to get one. One of the options I suggested was selling her services online via the forums where there are frequent requests for logos and contests. The end result may not be great money but it’s a great way to get yourself known and build a CV.
Along the same lines there’s Ben, one of the nicest kids I know who happens to be quite arty. Currently he’s sticking to paper designs but as soon as he’s ready for computer art I know that he’ll do well online too. What a great way to supplement your student income!

The official method is to call www.mysite.com/index2.php but that still parses the page and adds an alternate stylesheet and header information. It’s good, but not perfect. (more…)

I needed to have a table holding all my picklists, to make them easier to edit and manage. It’s a large application so there will be lots of drop downs and radio buttons, states and status fields.
