Mike Dammann: Lets rally together to make him a US Citizen

Other Stuff — Sarah King

SEO entrepeneur Mike Dammann has been noticeable by his absense from the online world this month and apparantly his USA residency papers were not what they should have been [source1] [source2].

Now the first rules of illegal immigrants are

  1. keep a low profile
  2. don’t leave the country and try to get back in

Breaking #1 never hurt, I guess the immigration people don’t Google the names of overstayers and he’d been up to Canada etc so no doubt thought a wee trip to Mexico wouldn’t hurt. The USA is a mighty big place though. I would have thought that once you were in you would never run out of new places to visit.

Now, I’m not a USA citizen, resident or anything like that… but how about those who are starting up a media campaign to

“Save Mike”

Surely if bloggers, webmasters and fellow SEOs the country over jumped up and down hard enough they may apply a little clemency?

Apparantly we can write to him at

P.O. Box 439049
San Diego, CA. 92143
Name: Mike Dammann
A#: 28801021

  1. I can’t even get my wife US citizenship so while this is a noble campaign, I do have my doubts that it will succeeed.

  2. I agree with James on this one.

Obtaining legal citizenship or clemency in the U.S. has become much more difficult, especially after 9/11 - I know people who have been waiting (legally) for 5+ years for their citizenship papers.

It is my sincerest hope, however, that Mike is alright and will continue to be alright through this entire ordeal.
