Why Alexa doesn't matter in New Zealand
Alexa's data is taken from users who connect with a specific ISP - based in the United Kingdom. While Alexa crawls all websites it's data must be seen in context. The results will be biased towards the interests of the British population.
With Alexa, a lower number is better.
A subdomain should be rated differently from it's main domain, but currently the middle 2 results show up with the same rank, yet they are very different sites.
When I first started looking at Search Engine Optimisation I was disappointed by how badly the sites rated with Alexa, now I know that other engines, like Google, matter far more.

Since building this page, Alexa have changed the way the script works - that or it's buggy
Even though I pass it the name of the domain I want to query, and each request is in an iframe to prevent blurring, it always returns the button for this domain. And it's the 3rd on the list. Go figure.
PropertyInvestor.info
The information in this site is specific to New Zealand investors, or those investing in the market.
A poor ranking here means nothing, as NZ users don't supply Alexa with data. |

PC Property Manager
This software is sold in the UK so an Alexa rating will be significant. |

This website
This is just my personal site with snippets of information, so a Google, Alexa or Yahoo rating isn't terribly important, anyway. |

Botspotter
Information about search engines. This site should have international appeal and for there to be more webmasters looking for information, than investors looking for property management software so I would expect it to rate better that the other 3 examples. |
