Around the time I left in ‘87 we were introducing “clouds” for shared bandwidth and connections - early internets. But they were still private and managed by a company you would have a contract with.

Now we have this amazing thing call the internet with hubs all around the world that your request for information must pass through on it’s way to the server that hosts the site.

12,575 Illegal Internet Cafes Shut Down
Posted by Sarah King in Other Stuff
You have to hand it to the Chinese - headlines this: 12,575 Illegal Internet Cafes Shut Down make you respect their guts in continuing to set the internet cafes up. Despite all the bad things the ‘net delivers so easily to our desktops, the freedom of information we take for granted will mean that thousands will continue to challenge the systems that try to prevent it’s spread.

Collecting “Sarah King”
Posted by Sarah King in Other Stuff
This used to be quite popular when the web first started - to have a site where people sharing your name could be listed.
So if your name is Sarah King leave a comment below and we’ll see how many there are out in cyberspace.
Now, this used to be a blogger blog so comments were easier to make and now I’m hosting my own you have to login but that’s to stop spammers and protect my database. But don’t worry, I won’t be contributing to the world wide spam problem. I have better things to do
For starters we have
- a model, but I couldn’t find any official site for her
- a maker of frosted resin jewellery
- a Division 3 US national Scrabble championship player
- a Lecturer in Behavioural Neuroscience
- an Illinois track and field star
- a swimming star from Indianapolis
- a graphic artist
- a UK husky racer
- a Recruitment/Course Counsellor at a local university
