Hoax Virus Warnings

Every so often I get a well intentioned email from a friend or customer advising that they have been infected with a virus. It's usually the JDBGMGR.exe warning.

It is very important to research the file you are about to delete even if the person who has sent you the email is "credible". Some files can be deleted without too much risk, others will cause problems.

Sites such as Sophos, Symantec and others publish information on real and hoax virus warnings. A quick search on Google will provide you with others.

There are real viruses out there and you do need to take them seriously and warn others if you believe you have spread them about.
