I was just cruising my logs, as you do on a Saturday night 🙁 and noticed something strange. Try searching for something using lowercase type, then repeat it all in uppercase. Do yo uget the same results?
The results of my sample searches will vary depending on news articles and blogs (the topic is hot) to come but look at these:
- lower case search – this blog is not visible on the first few pages
- upper case search – currently my Graham Capill post is #2
These both search the local datacentre but I’d never considered the effect of an upper case letter. so if your users are older, and your keywords include a name then it’s worth running your checks on the spelling with an uppercase first letter.
I’d never noticed this before – anyone else getting different results depending on the caps lock?
